My Aussie Keesha stands guard while I gather eggs in the hen house. The reason she watches out for me is the rooster wants to attack anyone who tries to come anywhere near his hens.

I often hear Australian Shepherd owners expressing appreciation for the guard or protector duty role these working dogs display. And the beauty of these dogs is that they read a situation and just know.
