DTR Working Dogs - LGD's Meet the Flock

We were under high pressure from coyotes and had been searching for a few months before finding these two working adult guardian dogs.

Reva and Glory are full sisters and were two years old when they arrived. They were already accustomed to various livestock.

In the following photos Reva is making an introduction to the sheep while the flock is still contained in a relatively small (4-5acre) night paddock. Prior to this I had walked both dogs around the sheep on lead a handful of times.

The photos tell how her introduction went. It was amazing to watch her and speaks to the intuitiveness of these breeds.

In the final photo Glory has entered the picture. She was far less calm about meeting new sheep. The photos really say it all and are a decent display of the intent of two different dogs and the reaction of it from the livestock.
